OKLAHOMA SCHOLARS FUNDRAISER
A partnership through the Chamber, McAlester Public Schools, and many generous local businesses such as Newfield, First National Bank, AEP/PSO, and private donors provides incentives for our students to take the challenge. The program encourages students to complete a more challenging course throughout high school that will prepare them for jobs or higher education after graduation. Students receive graphing calculators, t-shirts, college tours, special recognition, graduation medals, and a graduation luncheon.
This program is solely funded by private and corporate donors and local businesses. In June, the Chamber is Sponsoring a FUNdraiser for the Scholars Program - The Putt Putt Invitational.

The McAlester Chamber of Commerce and Downey Publishing are partnering together to offer the membership
an outstanding advertising opportunity.
One of the most commonly and frequently used publications in every household and business is the Downey Phonebook. Thousands of copies are distributed and used by new and current residents, businesses and potential businesses. Their phonebooks are distributed through our office and requested on a daily basis.
Advertising sales for the 2010/2011 book have just begun and will run through May 28, 2010. There is an added bonus and a great opportunity to promote your business in this year’s publication.
Downey Publishing is offering all MCALESTER CHAMBER MEMBERS a FREE TWBL ad - Trade White Bold Listing (TWBL). This is a $250 value that will be available to any current McAlester Chamber Member. This offer is being made for this year’s 2010 – 2011 McAlester Pittsburg County phonebook. The TWBL is unique in that the ad specifies that your business is a Member of the McAlester Chamber
(incorporating the Chamber Logo).
The sales team from Downey’s office will be contacting Chamber members soon. We encourage you to take a few moments to learn of this promotional opportunity for your business. If you have questions or want to speak with a Downey Sales Representative, please contact Downey at 800-343-8840, or call the Chamber at 918-423-2550.
